This a species of succulent plant in the iceplant family. It is a creeping plant that forms a carpet of flat-growing perennial in groups on the ground from a base. Native to South Africa, this drought-tolerant plant is often grown as an annual in cooler climates, thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, and adding a splash of color to rock gardens, containers, and ground cover plantings.
